Fixing a puzzling Excel keyboard shortcut error in Windows 7 and Vista

E-mail Print PDF

Since I went to Windows 7, one of my favourite Excel keyboard shortcuts has not worked: unhiding columns with ctrl+shift+0 [ or ctrl+) ].

Finally this got too crazy. The answer is difficult to find so I repeat it here (and this is relevant for Vista and Windows 7)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967893

That's a link about something called the Input Method Editor (IME) which uses the same key. If only Windows had a central keyboard short cut manager like Linux's KDE or Gnome. But anyway.

Now I just have to get my multimedia keys on my Dell Vostro working with Windows 7. Which would not be a problem in KDE or Gnome because they are better, more flexible different.
