Someone from a small Protestant doomsday Christian sect dropped off a leaflet at our house. The premise is simple:
- Disaster is coming
- God will save you (but only you)
The "disaster" is very contemporary: terrorism, global warming, viruses.
The solution is of course God. (Some would say "buy a Mac").
And God's done it before, as the leaflet goes on to explain. God saved the Israelites via the miracle of Passover. Lucky Israelites. They really dodged a bullet. But what was the disaster? A mass murder of Egyptians .... by God!
