Tim's Body-for-Life Quick Jumps

Journal Week 4

This was a solid week. I was conscious of the photos being taken at the end of the week, to be compared against the first photos. They show visible improvement. I'm happy about that, because it is very difficult to follow improvments simply looking in the mirror. The weight loss shows up around the hips mainly; the size of my tummy is still big. It's like following the retreat of the glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age.
Of course, the Body Caliper I received last week should help with following my progress quantitatively but Tris and I need to get more experience in using it, so while we measured twice with it during the week, I'll wait until we have five or six measurements to before I start treating the results very seriously.

My gym sessions were twice before work and once in the afternoon (a public holiday for Chinese New Year, the most important holiday of the year in Singapore).
I used my new idea of exercising until failure, and then immediately switching to the lightest weight to finish off the set. On Friday, I went down two weights rather than to the lightest weight. That is, if I failed during the set of six, the fourth set, I finished the set using the weight from the second set, the set of 10.

Next week I will change some of my exercises: I will make the straight leg deadlift my main hamstring exercise, and use the lunge for the final set, and I'll replace the leg press with squats.

So far so good.
